Letter from US Senator Fritz Hollings of SC requesting a copy of JHS The Flashes newspaper to be mailed to his Charleston office. Tom McCutchen, Jr. was editor of the newspaper and was the first JHS student to be elected District Five South Carolina Press Association Chairman in 1971. JHS hosted the annual district workshop for ninety fellow high school journalist on October 9, 1972.
