New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith is located on New Hope Road in the Possum Fork community.  The land for the church was donated by Norman Stone and Mattie Powell, with James Napoleon Powell serving as the first pastor. The church met at a home in Possum Fork in 1900. A sanctuary was completed in 1917.

New Hope Church is listed in the 1930 Minutes of the Eastern Conference of the Original Free Will Baptist Church of South Carolina. The Delegates were D. W. Stone and M. J. Powell.
